Similar to the DIN 8306 standard for diver's watches, it ensures that pilot's watches fulfil all the current requirements for measuring time while piloting an aircraft.

The technical standard for pilot's watches (TESTAF) was officially presented on 19 July at the German headquarters of the leading helicopter manufacturer Eurocopter in Donauwörth. Read here the press release issued by the Aachen University of Applied Sciences on 1 August 2012.
