People who are most at home when at sea - either on a yacht or as watersports enthusiasts - know how important it is to keep an eye on the weather and the tides. High and low tide govern life at sea. Whichever harbour you sail into, one of the first things to look out for is the local tide table, to gauge the current tidal rise. A glance at your watch is always crucial here.
The 142 St II GZ model now has an integrated tide bezel. This can be used at any time to read off the relative water level for any location given in a tide table. Simply set the time of the last high tide using the bezel. The current and expected water levels and the next high tide can then be read off. The relative water level is indicated by a blue rim. As seafarers say, may there always be enough water beneath your keel!
