Tool watches, and in particular pilot chronographs such as the iconic models of the 103 series, have been a defining part of Sinn Spezialuhren’s collection since the mid-1960s. The classic case design, with its uncompromising focus on functionality and legibility, has fascinated watch enthusiasts for decades. From the very beginning until today, we have developed numerous technologies for our high-quality timepieces, always closely followed by the specialist magazine ARMBANDUHREN. Out of this long-standing and successful partnership, an extraordinary watch has now emerged: the special edition 103 St Sa Ty Hd H.
Equipped with a traditional hand-wound movement and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal on both sides, it unites historical values with state-of-the-art watchmaking. A particularly striking feature: thanks to the sapphire crystal case back, the intricate mechanics of the hand-wound movement—without a rotor—can be admired in every detail, offering true pleasure to any connoisseur of traditional watchmaking.
The light blue glossy dial with dark blue, satinized subdials follows the classic tricompax layout. The result is a harmonious design that perfectly combines elegance and functionality. Orange hands for the chronograph seconds and minutes provide striking accents, while the white-orange alternating markings on the first ten minutes of the chronograph scale ensure optimal legibility.
A special refinement lies in the indices attached by hand as well as the hour and minute hands featuring hybrid ceramic luminous elements. By directly integrating the luminous pigments into the components themselves, an exceptionally high concentration of luminescent material is achieved. This results in extreme light intensity and perfect readability - even in complete darkness. This creates an intriguing contrast between the classic base model with its traditional hand-wound movement on the one hand, and the use of state-of-the-art technology on the other, underscoring the timeless design of the 103 series.
For enthusiasts of traditional measurements, the tachymeter scale on the inner bezel adds an extra dimension: allowing precise, manual calculation of speeds ranging from 60 km/h to 600 km/h. With low pressure resistance and water resistance up to 20 bar, the 103 St Sa Ty Hd H is a dependable companion when it comes to precision and reliability. Each piece is delivered in an exclusive fine case with both a blue textile strap and a leather strap. With only 250 examples produced, this special edition ranks among the most coveted collector’s pieces within this illustrious model series.
